New Year’s Eve Reflections

The holidays are just about over and it’s time to ring in the New Year! This has been a year of self-reflection, new adventures and unexpected experiences. Every NYE, before the champagne starts flowing, Ann and I have a tradition of taking time to review the year. We pull out our personal calendars and share all of the things we did.

So far, some of my favorites this year include going to The Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall, acting in the BackShield commercial we shot with a bunch of our friends over the summer, styling Eduardo Jordan for his James Beard ceremony, touring fjords in Scandinavia, and trying Korean BBQ for the first time while on a surprise trip to LA.

This exercise of reflection helps me to appreciate what I’ve accomplished and motivates me to continue to grow in the New Year. I highly recommend it. You’ll be surprised at how much life you’ve lived in a year.

The visuals in this post are from a recent lifestyle shoot I did in collaboration with Amli Arc, a new 41 story high-rise in downtown Seattle. These photos represent a commitment to rising above the negativity that’s ever-present in our world, and living a life full of adventure, creativity and beautiful experiences.

Cheers to you and yours and happy New Year from The Bright Report!
