Last month I partnered up with a group of Seattle menswear bloggers as stylists at Culture Fest Seattle. Culture Fest is an event put on by the local organization F.A.M. (Fashion, Art, Music), giving artists a platform to present their work to the public. The event included a panel discussion, a live fashion show, spoken word and several musical performances. It was a lot of fun.
For our portion of the event, we each styled a mannequin with a specific theme in mind. Antonio (@antoniocdsmith) focuses on travel with his blog, so he went with a resort look featuring pieces from Scotch & Soda. Endurance (@curatorofcool) put together a look from local boutique Butch Blum that matches his “always keeping it cool” attitude. Avi (@suitedsoor), a business professional and menswear entrepreneur, showed how to strike a perfect balance between comfort and style in the workplace by coupling a suit jacket with chinos. Lastly, the look that I put together was from a local favorite, Division Road, Inc. It was an elevated casual outfit featuring a conspicuous tiger print jacket paired with tailored denim and loafers.
The event brought a lot of positive energy and creativity under one roof and it was exciting to be a part of it. The next Culture Fest hasn’t been announced yet, but you can stay in the know by following @culturefestsea on Instagram.
